ReNew Organic Day Spa

by Corinne Levinstein

facialReNew Organic Day Spa is eco-friendly from its treatment products to the interior decorating. The spa is located on the Avenue in Hampden. I’ve visited twice and each time has been a delight. From the hot herbal tea to the soothing music and gentle products, ReNew offers a holistic approach to spa treatments. ReNew provides facial treatments, massage, body treatments, hair removal, and soon-nail services.

There are also special classes, catering to couples, parents and their babies, and soon-to-be moms. The following descriptions are from the education section of ReNew’s website:

Infant Massage Class (75 min session x 4) $150
This four-class session, for you and your infant, is taught once a week. Our certified infant massage instructor teaches caregivers to massage infants between the ages of eight weeks and seven months, helping to create a meaningful bond between adult and infant.

Hypnobabies Class (3 hour session x 5) $300
Hypnobabies is a complete childbirth preparation course that teaches the same medical hypnosis techniques used by people who undergo surgery with hypnosis as their only anesthesia. Couples will learn about the stages of birth, prenatal nutrition and exercises, how to stay healthy and low risk, and powerful “Eyes Open” childbirth hypnosis. Mothers are awake, aware and can move about freely, still very relaxed, still very deeply in hypnosis, and still completely comfortable while giving birth.
Instructor: Noelia M. Waldo, CD(DONA), HCHI

All you need to bring is your partner and an open mind. Handouts are included.
